While captains and crews recover from last week's White Marlin Open and prepare for the upcoming Poor Girls Open a few have found some time to fish in between. Captain Jason Genthner on the “Tighten Up” returned to the docks today with a white marlin release. Bringing his total releases for the season well of over 25. The ” Tail to Tale” with Captain Joel Wadkins returned today with a nice looking wahoo and reported releasing a white marlin. After returning from an overnighter the “Jade II” with Captain Ed Kauffman hung two very nice sized yellow fin tuna which were accompanied by a white marlin release. Captain Ron Callis was at the helm of the “Reel Addiction” today and led his crew to 3 beautiful golden tilefish, along with a dolphin, and a mystery fish which the crew was unable to identify. After an unfortunate bout of bad weather this afternoon the “Bay Bee” and the “Get Sum” were able to take their afternoon trips. Captain Nick Clemente on the “Get Sum” had 4 keeper flounder prior to the mid-day storm on his morning trip. His afternoon trip produced a keeper flounder; both trips also had an abundance of throwback flounder. On the bay fishing head boat the “Bay Bee” Captain Cale Layton reported good numbers of throwbacks between his two trips. Yesterday we somehow missed Captain Nick Clemente's report off of the “Get Sum” so we would like to mention his catch this evening; his morning trip yesterday had 3 keeper flounder and the afternoon had 1 keeper. This upcoming weekend marks the start of the 19th Annual Poor Girls Open which is an all ladies billfish release tournament. Some of our Captains are available for the tournament and looking for female anglers!!!
