While not too many boats left the marina this morning, all those that left returned with good numbers and impressive fish! While fishing the Mid Atlantic 500 the “Moore Bills” with Captain Rob Skillman returned to the scales today with a massive 43 pound dolphin which was followed by 2 impressive tuna. A good day was had on the “Game Over” with Captain Steve Pfeffier who had 5 decent sized yellow fin tuna and a white marlin release. A fantastic day was had with Captain Dale Lisi who returned home with 5 beautiful yellow fin tuna and 15 very large gaffer dolphin. The “Tighten Up” with Captain Jason Genthner had not returned when this fishing report was published, however he had called to notify us that he was weighing in a white marlin at the scales at the Mid Atlantic 500 at Sunset Marina. We will have a weight for you as soon as we know! Further inshore Captain Mark Sampson on the “Fish Finder” had a good day today. His half day trips produced a sand tiger, 5 Atlantic sharp nose, 4 dogfish, 3 bluefish, and high numbers of croaker, skate and sea trout. Bay flounder fishing was phenomenal today. Captain Nick Clemente on the bay private charter the “Get Sum” had 4 keeper (>17”) flounder today as well as plenty of throwback croaker and flounder. The “Bay Bee” with Captain Cale Layton at the helm had quite the day today. The crew had only throwbacks on the morning trip; however, the tides seem to have been with them in the afternoon. The afternoon trip produced 3 keeper flounder, 2 keeper croaker, one of which was 17″! The keeper fish were weeded out of an abundance of throwbacks that the crew had today.
The next few days should be great fishing days as the Mid Atlantic 500 is going on until friday! Weigh-Ins are being held at our sister marina Sunset Marina.
