The past few weeks reports have been filled with tuna, today it seems to have shift to marlin releases. Captain Dale Lisi on the “Foolish Pleasures” released 2 white marlin today, and returned with a good sized yellow fin tuna as well as a few skipjacks and some mackerel. Aboard the “Last Call” today with Captain Franky Pettolina another white marlin was released and Captain Frank returned reporting a yellow fin, and some other species of tuna. Two nice yellow fin were brought back to the docks today by Captain Jeremy Blunt on the “Blood, Sweat, & Tears” after trolling at the canyons. Captain Ed Kauffman on the “Jade II” also returned with 2 yellow fin today as well. Two more yellow fin, and a white marlin were released today by the crew on the “Playtime” with Captain Ron Taylor. Some of our private boats also released marlin and returned with tuna today. A few dolphin were also brought back by the “Game Changer” with Captin Fred Husman. The “Fish Bonz” with Captain Mark Robbins released a white marlin today and reported seeing a few others. The “Stree-Reel-ief” with Captain Todd Dickerson also released a white marlin today, and returned with a dolphin and a yellow fin tuna. Captain Ron Callis on the “Reel Addiction” returned with no other than 23 blue line tile fish, 17 substantial sized sea bass, black bellied roses, as well as a mystery fish which we could not identify. After a ½ day inshore the “Game Over” with Captain Steve Pfeiffer brought back some really nice flounder and bluefish. Captain Mark Sampson reported as he always does, releasing a variety of shark species during his morning and afternoon trips. Bay fishing while not producing the large number of keeper flounder as ocean fishing is still producing. Captain Nick Clemente on the “Get Sum” took a few shorter trips today and reported high numbers of throwbacks between the trips. The “Bay Bee” with Captain Cale Layton had 2 keepers on their morning trip and throwbacks in the following trips. Currently the marlin fishing really seems to be improving, and the flounder bite is great inshore at the wrecks and the reefs.
