Today as expected was a beautiful day on the water. We had a good number of boats leave the marina early this morning to look for tuna and marlin. The “Blood, Sweat, & Tears” with Captain Jeremy Blunt returned with 4 long fin tuna and a 2 white marlin releases today. (photo) After trolling at the canyons today Captain Ed Kauffman on the “Jade II” returned with a very nice big eye estimated around 180 pounds. Another white marlin was released off of the “All In” with Captain Mark Radcliffe today who also returned with a good number of tile fish. More white marlin were released today by Captain Franky Pettolina on the “Last Call.” One of our private boats the “Recon” with Captain Ed Barker returned today with 2 long fin tuna, a dolphin and a white marlin release. Captain David Raine on the Raine-E-Daze also had a noteworthy catch today returning with an enormous gefilte fish. Congrats to Captain David Raine on this great accomplishment! With a little bit of a breeze today bay fishing was achalleneging as setting up a good drift was difficult. However the “Bay Bee” with Captain Cale Layton still reported high numbers of throwbacks. The “Get Sum” took an afternoon trip today and reported high numbers of throwbacks despite the wind. Right now the tuna and marlin are biting and bay fishing has been great weather permitting. This is one of the best times of year to fish.
