FISHING REPORT 09/03/18

The marlin are still in town, Capt Chris on “SPRING MIX II” released 4 White Marlin and put some Dolphins in the box. Capt Frank on “LAST CALL” released 2 White Marlin. Capt Oppie on “GAME CHANGER” returned to the docks with some Dolphin in the box!

INSHORE Capt John on the “OCEAN CITY GUIDE SERVICE” and Capt Nick on the “GET SUM” both reported a keeper flounder and a handful of throwbacks! Capt Cale on the “BAY BEE” reported a plethora of throwback flounder along with lots of other bay fish.

Billfish is the word today with a majority of our boats coming back to the docks flying release flags. Capt Stevie on the “STALKER” released a White Marlin. Capt John on the “GAME ON” released two White Marlins. Capt Rob aboard “MOORE BILLS” released a White Marlin along with a Blue Marlin. Capt Jeremy on “WRECKER” released two White Marlin. Capt Oppie on “GAME CHANGER” also released a White Marlin. Capt Josh Aboard “INSTIGATOR” released three White Marlins. Private charter boat “FOOLISH PLEASURES” with Capt Dale released a White Marlin. Capt Will on private charter boat “SIREN” had a successful inshore trip returning with a box full of Blue fish and Mackerel. Private Boat “HAULIN & BALLIN” released three White Marlin.

INSHORE Capt Nick on the “GET SUM” had three nice keeper flounder in the am and another in the evening. Capt John on “OCEAN CITY GUIDE SERVICE” had a handful of throwback flounder and three keeper Sheepshead along with some Croaker.

Weather had us down, Not anymore!! :)

The wind has left and the fish are here. We had a few boats venture offshore today, some are fishing the big fish classic and are remaining offshore overnight! Stay tuned for a report!!!
Captain Ron Callis aboard the “Bill$ 4 Bills” had brought 2 bluefin tuna, and yellowfin and some mahi back in the box today. The “Spring Mix II” with Captain Chris Watokowski returned with a yellow fin and some mahi in the box. The “Game Over” reported some blue fin action. White marlin seem to be showing up as well. The “Instigator” with Captain Josh Wentling returned to the dock today to report releasing a white malrin and had some mahi in the box.
 
In the bay Captain John Prather on the “OC Guide Service” had a successful morning returning with 2 keeper flounder; his afternoon trip was also successful with plenty of keeper croakers. Our bay flounder headboat with Captain Cale Layton reported throwbacks between both of its trips today!
 
One of the best months to go fishing is approaching, availability is becoming limited!

Tuna are still here!! :) July 11, 2018

All things seem to be shaping up nicely for the 31st annual Tuna Tournament! Our charter boats reported good numbers of yellowfin tuna! The “Bill$ 4 Bills” with Captain Ron Callis had a great day with 11 yellowfin tuna and a mahi. Captain Rob Skillman of the “Moore Bills” had an exciting day today putting 7 yellowfin tuna and 2 mahi in the box. He also reported releasing 2 makos and a blue marlin. More yellowfin were caught aboard the “Stalker” with Captain Steve Moore who returned to report 8 yellowfin and a mahi. Mahi tacos are on the menu tonight for the crew of the “Spring Mix II” with Captain Chris Watkowski who reported 3 yellofin and 31 mahi!
 
One of our private boats the “Foolish Pleasures” with Captain Dale Lisi had 11 yellowfin and mahi!
 
Inshore fishing has been picking up recently. On our bay head boat the “Bay Bee” Captain Cale Layton returned with 3 keepers one of which weighed in at 4 pounds. The “Get Sum” with Captain Nick Clemente had a good day clamming today and reported a keeper flounder on the morning trip. Aboard the “OC Gudie Service” Captain John Prather returned to report 12 sharks and a keeper flounder.
 
We are looking forward to an exciting weekend here at the Ocean City Fishing Center. Be sure to come down and check out all of the action of the 31st Annual Ocean City Tuna Tournament. Fishing starts Friday and weigh-ins begin at 4:00!!

Fireworks, and first marlins! :)

It was a fourth of July to remember for a few boys! They didn’t see great fireworks but their FIRST MARLINS! On the “Stalker” Captain Steve Moore released 3 white marlin and had a VERY proud moment this afternoon as his son Parker released his first white marlin!!! Congrats Parker!!! Small world, Parker’s cousins Dane (age 8 ) released his first blue marlin and Brody (age 11) released his first white marlin on the “Moore Bills” with Captain Rob Skillman! All took their cerimonal swims in the marina! Congrats boys we are all so happy for you!!!! The “Moore Bills” also released another white marlin and returned with a few yellowfin! The “Playmate” proved that we still have some tuna and dolphin around returning to report 2 yellowfin and some mahi!!!
 
On the “Get Sum” Captain Nick Clemente had a 1/2 bushel of crabs and 3 keeper flounder.

Marlin, Tuna, and Dolphin oh my! 07-01-18

Well the first day of July brought way more marlin into our report today. Captain Rob Skillman on the “Moore Bills” returned with 5 white marlin and a blue marlin release. On the “Wrecker” Captain Jeremy Blunt also released 2 white marlin; one of which was Megan Humphrey’s first white marlin. Congrats Megan!!! The crew also released a blue marlin making sure to put some meat in the box they stopped and caught a yellowfin, some mahi, blue line tile and seabass. On the “Spring Mix II” Captain Chris Watokowski returned to report a blue marlin release as well as some mahi in the box for tacos later!!! A very nice 27 pound mahi came in off the “Game On” today with Captain Jon Yost who also had more mahi, and 5 nice yellowfin tuna! More yellowfin were caught on the “Stalker” with Captain Steve Moore who returned with 5 very nice yellowfin making for very happy customers. Another white marlin was released on the “Playtime” who also had 4 mahi. On the “Bill$ 4 Bills” Captain Ron Calis returned with plenty of blueline tile and seabass!!! More tilefish and mahi were caught aboard the “Talkin Trash” with Captain Chris Little today.
 
One of our private boats the “Foolish Pleasures” with Captain Dale Lisi also had some luck today with the mahi!
 
Inshore fishing has been getting better! Captain Nick Clemente on the “Get Sum” had a stellar day with a total of 11 keeper flounder. Captain John Prather of the “OC Guide Service” traveled into the ocean today and was happy to report shark releases, a Spanish king mackerel and bonitas.

It was not the best day for tuna fishing ever but there were still some great catches of dolphin today! Captain Ron Callis on the “Bill$ 4 Bills” had a very nice 185 lb big eye. More tuna were caught on the “Finantic” with Captain Mark Malamphy today who returned home with 5 yellowfin. 15 mahi found their way into the fish box of “Spring Mix II” with Captain Chris Watkowski. Captain Mark Robbins of the “Husevo” had a mixed bag today with 2 yellowfin, 4 mahi, some goldentilefish and seabass. Another boat the “Moore Bills” with Captain Rob SKillman also threw some mahi in the box today.
 
Our private boat the “Haulin-n-Ballin” returned to report 2 white marlin release and some mahi.
 
Inshore fishing has really been picking up these past few days. The “Morning Star” with Captain Monty Hawkins had an exciting day full of seabass and some mahi! Captain John Prather of the “OC Guide Service” had a day full so fhsark releases, rays, throwback flounders, rockfish and some tog. On the “Ivy Sea” Captain Nick Clemente reported 5 keeper flounder and 3 keeper sea bass among all the throwbacks!

186 pound big eye 🙂

Busy weekend ahead! 06-29-18

Our boats took advantage of the good fishing and the even better weather. It was a little bit of a slower day but still busy! The “Talkin Trash” with Captain Chris Little returned with 8 yellowfin and 9 mahi in the box. Captain Mark Malamphy on the “Finantic” also had a good day today releasing a white marlin, and returning to white a report of 2 yellowfin, and a mahi. The “Spring Mix II” with Captain Chris Watokowski had a good mix of fish with 2 yellowfin and On the “Bills 4 Bills” with Captain Ron Callis returned with 4 yellowfin. Captain Rob Skillman on the “Moore Bills” had an exciting day full of mahi!! The “Wrecker” with Captain Jeremy Blunt also had a day with some mahi action! More yellowfin were caught about the “Game On” with Captain Jon Yost who returned with 2 yellowfin. A white marlin was released off of the “Stalker” by Captain Steve Moore.

Our private boats also had a good day as well. The “Amanda May-Hem” with Captain Elliott Pomeranz returned with a reporte of 3 yellowfin, 3 mahi, and a mako release. Captain Dale Lisi on the “Foolish Pleasures” returned with 3 yellowfin.

Inshore fishing has been great recently as well. Captain Mark Sampson on the “Fish Finder” reported multiple shark releases. The “Playtime” took a break from tuna fishing and went inshore catching 5 bluefish and some rockfish this morning. The “OC Guide Service with Captain John Prather had an exciting morning full of blackdrum, sheapshead and shark releases. Captain Nick Clemente on the “Get Sum” also had a fun day inshore at the wrecks catching 2 really nice red drum. On his morning trip they had a keeper flounder among many releases.
