Today marked the start of the 43rd Annual White Marlin Open. A majority of the slips were empty because a good number of boats were fishing. A total of 27 white marlin released between the boats today. The “Haulin-N-Baulin” put up a total of 7 release flags. Three of those marlin were from the “Wrecker” and the “Brown Dog”. The “Spring Mix II”, “Game On”, and the “Playmate”, “Foolish Pleasures” “Turn me Loose”, “About Time”, “A Salt Weapon”, “MJS”, and the “Berzerker” all released a single white and threw some dolphin in the box as well. The “Last Call” had a total of 5 dolphin today! We are proud to say that one of our private boats the “Talkin' Trash” took the trip to the scales today to weigh two nice yellow fin tuna which were holding at (3rd at our last update) and also released a blue marlin, “Reel Direct” also made that trip and landed a 67lb yellow fin putting them in 1st (as of now). Wahoo also made their way into the report today and into the box of the “Reel Direct” and the “Remedy II” and were accompanied by a mess of dolphinas well. “Reel Deal” and “Reely Wired” both went out and came back with 1 dolphin. “All In” released 2 white marlin today. “Moxie Boys” returned with 4 dolphin.
In the bay The “OC Guide Service” had a good day with 30 bluefish, throwback flounder, and a little cobia action. The “Get Sum” reported 4 keeper flounder and plenty of throwbacks between his two trips. “Bay Bee” caught a couple flounder as well with some throwbacks between his trips.
