OFFSHORE: With a good number of the boats that left today staying out overnight for the big fish classic we don’t have too much to report for today. However, those that went fishing did have success. The “Spring Mix II” with Captain Chris returned to report 2 white releases and a blue marlin release. On the “Playmate” with Captain Chad Meeks at the helm the crew released 2 white marlin. Both the “Wrecker” with Captain Jeremy Blunt and “Game Over” with Captain Steve Pfeiffer released a white marlin today. With a focus shifting to marlin don’t be fooled boats are still catching tuna! The “Game Changer” with Captian Fred Husman returned with a yellow fin and reported releasing several others today. Captain Butch on the “Jade II” had a smilar report with a yellow fin, and a handful of dolphin today. Captain Ron Taylor on the “Playtime” weighed in an impressive wahoo today at 72 pounds. (see photo). We have about 6-7 boats who are fishing through the night and we hope to hear great reports when the return tomorrow! INSHORE: The “Bay Bee” with Captain Cale Layton had throwbacks across both trips today. On the “OC Guide Service” Captain John Prather had a busy day at the wrecks in the morning returning with 4 keeper flounder after weeding through ample throwbacks. During his afternoon trip the crew focused their attention to bowfishing and shot a few rays. (see photo) On the “Ivy Sea” Captain Bill Kelly ventured to the wrecks just off the coast and it was the right choice. During his 5 hour trip the crew had 5 keeper flounder, and plenty of throwbacks. His afternoon was filled with flounder, rockfish, sea robin, and many other species of fish but unfortunately no keepers. On the “Get Sum” Captain Nick Clemente had 3 keepers in the morning while fishing in bay and throwbacks for the remainder of his trips. Right now the fishing is begining to pick back up! We hope to have a busy morning full big fish with the number of boats who are fishing overnight! Check back tomorrow to see what they caught.
