OFFSHORE: It was not a terribly busy day offshore today, many of our boats are preparing for the 28th annual Tuna Tournament which begins this Friday! But a few of our boats still went prospecting! Captain Rob Skillman on the “Moore Bills” fished inshore catching 2 blue fins, and then went to the hot dog to find some yellow fins returning with2 and releasing 3 others . On the “Game On” Captain Jon Yost reported 2 yellow fin, 3 gaffer dolphin and releasing several other tuna today. The “Muff Diver” with Captain Wayne Bradford took a shorter trip today leaving late and returning early but not without fish; they reported a blue fin tuna and a handful of decent sized dolphin. After a few good days of big eye fishing we are hoping that the tuna will stick around for the weekend! INSHORE: Today flounder fishing seemed to favor the afternoon tide, with a majority of our bay boats catching more keepers in the afternoon. Captain Cale Layton on the “Bay Bee” had a keeper in the morning and 3 in the afternoon along with numerous throwbacks. On “OC Guide Service” Captain John Prather went sharking in the morning and caught a keeper, his afternoon he had 3 keepers and plenty of throwbacks. Captain Nick Clemente on the “Get Sum” and “Ivy Sea” had throwbacks in the morning and 3 keepers in the afternoon, 2 keepers in the evening with no shortage of smiles and happy customers. (see photo) The flounder fishing seems to be improving! Right now our staff is preparing for the 28th annual Tuna Tournament, held here at the Ocean City Fishing center.
