Today was the second day of the Mid Atlantic 500. While nothing large was brought back to the docks here, there was most likely excitement over at our sister marina Sunset! We would like to report that yesterday Captain Dale Lisi on the “Foolish Pleasures” seemed to have missed our report but had a great day of dolphin fishing with 22 dolphin that weighed a total of 120 pounds. One of our private boats did return to the docks with a mako today though. The “Why Not” with Captain Wade Lober released 2 white marlin today. Captain Dave Wentling on the “Instigator” reported heavy white action while trolling at the canyons but no releases were made. Both the “Playmate” with Captain Jeremy Shandrowski and the “Moore Bills” with Captain Rob Skillman returned with 3 dolphin today. The weather the past few days has been pretty nasty offshore, so hopefully with the improving weather this week we will see some better fishing! Inshore fishing has been great recently. Captain Monty Hawkins on the “Morning Star” is reporting plenty of flounder and sea bass both keepers and throwbacks. As always the crew on the “Fish Finder” with Captain Mark Sampson released a variety of shark species today on their 1/2 day inshore. Bay fishing has been okay the past few days. Captain Mikey Walsh on the “Bay Bee” dug up 2 keeper flounder on the morning trip and a keeper in the afternoon among all of the throwbacks. The larger keepers flounder have really been biting on the incoming tide and at the wrecks and reefs recently!
