Just in time for the 26th Annual Tuna Tournament the big are joining the populations of yellow fin and blue fin that are hitting the docks at OCFC. High hook today goes to the “Blood Sweat & Tears” with Captain Jeremy Blunt who returned with a 209 pound big eye tuna (see below) as well as 9 yellow fin tuna. Another impressive big eye weighing in at 185 pounds came from Captain Jeremey Shandrowsk…i on the “Playmate” accompanied by 9 yellow fin tuna. After an overnighter the “Game On” with Captain Mike returned with their limit of blue fin tuna (2) a make, a yellow fin and a dolphin. Captain Dale Lisi on the “Foolish Pleasures” also had a great day today and returned with a nice sized Bluefin tuna as well. More tuna were seen off of the “Jade II” today with Captain Ed Kauffman who returned with a Bluefin, 4 yellow fin and a nice sized dolphin. Two white marlin were released today aboard the “Last Call” with Captain Franky Pettolina which is the first white marlin released from this marina this season! Congrats to Captain Franky. Aboard the “Luna-Sea” Captain Larry Dougherty returned with a nice sized big eye weighing in at 205 pounds and reported heavy tuna action today. Further inshore Captain Mark Sampson on the “Fish Finder” reports releasing a variety of species of sharks today during his trips. The “Bay Bee” with Captain Cale Layton also had a good day today with 2 keepers and throwbacks between all of his trips. More keeper flounder, two to be exact were seen on the “Get Sum” with Captain Nick Clemente along with crabs and clams between his trips. Overall the fishing is hot right now and the Tuna Tournament is this coming week. Weigh-Ins will be held daily between Friday July 12 and Sunday July 14, 2013 between 4:30- 7:30 here at the Ocean City Fishing Center! Come down and join us it’s great fun for the whole family!!!
