Today was the 2nd day of the 19th Annual Poor Girl's Open. A good number of our boats went fishing this morning in their search for fish. The “All In” with Captain Chad Meeks had an exceptional day today with 2 white marlin releases and a blue marlin release, these releases earned the boat high hook for the day. Captain Jeremy Blunt on the “Samurai I” returned home with 2 decent sized tuna today while fishing at the Poor-Man's canyon today. The “Bill$ 4 Bills” with Captain Mike Conner reported 2 skip jack tuna and seeing a few whites today. Captain Franky Pettolina on the “Last Call” had a special report tonight of 3 guppies, 2 tadpoles, and the oh so elusive minnow. Further inshore Captain Monty Hawkins on the “Morning Star” continues to fill his gut bucket and return home with happy customers. The crew has been seeing high numbers of flounder and sea bass in the past few days. The bay fishing has seemed to turn around this week. Captain Nick Clemente on the bay private charter the “Get Sum” saw 5 keeper flounder on his morning trip, his afternoon trip yeilded a report of throwback flounder and croaker, his evening trip produced an astounding 12 keeper croaker accompained by a report of throwback flounder. The “Bay Bee” also had a keeper flounder during their morning excursion, and their afternoon and evening trips had decent numbers of throwbacks. Tomorrow is the final day of the 19th Annual Poor Girls tournament, hopefully the marlin will bite better tomorrow for those poor girls!
