July began on a great note hear at the fishing center; after a long night offshore two of our boats returned mid-afternoon with plenty of big fish. The “All In” returned with a 225 pound mako, a 185.5 pound big eye, a very nice yellow fin and a cart full of dolphin. Next to arrive back was the “Jade II” with Captain Ed Kauffman. Captain Ed reported 2 white marlin releases which were accompanied by a few very large yellow fins and an impressive mako. Shortly after our overnight trips had returned the boats that had ventured offshore today returned and all had tuna. Captain Rob Skillman on the “Moore Bills” had a good day with 9 yellow fin tuna and a handful of good sized dolphin. Aboard the “Foolish Pleasures” Captain Dale Lisi led his crew to 3 yellow fin and plenty of dolphin. There was some excitement in the bay today as the water began to clear up. Captain Cale Layton on the head boat the “Bay Bee” returned with some keepers on their morning trip and higher numbers of throwbacks. The “OC Guide Service” with Captain John Prather had a successful morning full of rockfish and bluefish. Among the throwbacks the crew found a nice 29” keeper rock and a good keeper bluefish. Captain Brian Behe on the “Ivy Sea” weeded through a good number of throwbacks to return with 2 keeper flounder. On the sister ship the “Get Sum” Captain Nick had satisfied customers today with trips full of throwback flounder, crabs, and clams.
