While the blue fin did not make an appearance today, the big eye decided to show up in time for the first of the month, hopefully they are here to stay! The “Tighten Up” with Captain Jason Genthner had a fantastic day today returning with a 176 pound big eye tuna (see below) which currently holds the leaderboard position. The crew also released a white today. The “Foolish Pleasures” returned earlier than normal today with a big eye that weighed in at 137 pounds. Captain Rob Skillman on the “Moore Bills” also brought in a big eye today that weighed in at 160 pounds, the crew also managed to release a white marlin today as well. While the big eye have showed up the yellow fin have hung around. The crew on the “Jade II” with Captain Ed Kauffman returned with 3 yellow fin and 5 nice sized dolphin today. Captain Mark Sampson took one of his many infamous shark trips this afternoon and returned reporting multiple releases of a variety of shark species including spinners, dusky, and a hammerhead. While offshore fishing is heating up so is the bay fishing. Captain Nick Clemente on the bay private boat the “Get Sum” snagged 2 keeper flounder (18″>), a 1/2 a bushel of clams, a 1/2 a bushel of crabs and plenty of throwbacks to satisfy all of his trips today. Aboard the “Bay Bee” with Captain Mikey Walsh 3 keepers were seen on the morning trip and throwbacks were consistent throughout the day. Fishing is great and the only thing that the fishing center is missing is anglers! Don’t miss your opportunity to fish with Ocean City’s Premier Charter fleet today!
