OFFSHORE: Tuna fishing picked up today. With everyone chunking today most crews returned with some nice size yellow fin. The “Foolish Pleasures” with Captain Dale Lisi returned with 6 yellow fin tuna for a total stringer weight of 310 pounds. The heaviest weighed 65 pounds. (see photo) Captain Rob Skillman on the “Moore Bills” also had a few really nice yellow fin and also had a 128 pound big eye on 60 pound, so it put up a good great fight!!! Aboard the “Muff Diver” with Captain Wayne Bradford reported 2 yellofin and 6 dolphin. The “Spring Mix” truly returned with a mixture of catach today including tuna, dolphin, and sharks. Not all the tuna caught today were yellow fin Captain Ron Taylor on the “Playtime” returned with a blue fin tuna and 5 very nice gaffer dolphin. Both the “Last Call” with Captain Franky Pettolinathe “Husevo” with Captain Mark Robbins and the “Game Over” with Captain Steve Pfeiffer returned to report catches of dolphin. While tuna and dolphin seem to be the main catches for today Captain Terry on the “Reel Attitude” managed to catch some dolphin and a nice 49 pound wahoo as well. Our private boats also did well today. Captain Elliot Pomeranz on the “Amanda May-hem” who lead one of his crew members to their first white marlin! The “Talkin’ Trash” had a day full of tuna activity with a big eye and reutrnecd with some dolphin. On the “Fuguite” Captain Wayne Lauman returned from a deep dropping trip with 43 tilefish, 31 black sea bass, and 2 dolphin. INSHORE: As always Captain Mark Sampson on the “Fish Finder” returned to report releasing a variety of shark species. In the bay flounder fishing has been a steady pick weeding through ample throwbacks for a few keepers. Captain Cale Layton on the “Bay Bee” had a few keepers and throwbacks between his two trips. On the “Get Sum” Captain Nick Clemente reported throwbacks. We are proud to report that Captain Liz Brigttingham on the “Ivy Sea” had 3 keepers on her morning trip and plenty of throwbacks.
