As captains prepare for the upcoming White Marlin Open not as many boats went fishing today, however many are available and willing to take trips as the fishing is hot! Captain Dale Lisi on the “Foolish Pleasures” returned from his day at the canyons with 14 nice sized dolphin. Aboard the “Last Call” Captain Franky Pettolina led his crew to some great sized yellowfin. The crew landed a total of 3 yellow fin. The tilefish king himself Captain Ron Callis was at the helm of the “Reel Addiction” today and did not disappoint. The crew landed 6 golden tilefish, 10 blueline tilefish, 10 seabass, 2 wreck fish and a snowy grouper. Captain Jeremy Blunt on the “Blood, Sweat, & Tears also had a good day of wreck fishing returning with plenty of seabass and blueline tilefish. Captain Nick Clemente on the “Get Sum” had a good morning filled with crabs and clams. The tide was definitely with the afternoon trips today and Captain Nick proved that with a keeper and throwbacks on his four hour trip and 4 keepers among throwbacks on his evening trip (photo) The “Bay Bee” also had a busy afternoon after a morning of throwbacks. The “Bay Bee” had a total of 4 keepers this afternoon and evening. Also the “Bay Bee” landed an unusual catch with a smooth dogfish shark (photo). Overall the fishing is great and Captains are preparing for a busy few weeks filled with tournaments and hopefully a good amount of fish.
