OFFSHORE: With rough seas today we only had a few boats that were dedicated to trying catch some fish. The “Jade II” with Captain Ed Kauffman returned to report white marlin releases and few dolphin. More dolphin were caught on the “Spring Mix II” with Captain Chris, and on the “Muff Diver” with Captain Wayne Bradford. Some nice wahoo are starting to show up too. The “Last Call” with Captain Franky Pettolina returned with a nice wahoo today. Aboard the “Haulin N Ballin” it was an all ladies crew fishing the heels and reels tournament and the girls did a great job!!! The crew released 2 white marlin and had a few dolphin to weigh in. INSHORE: After some dirty water and bad timing with the tides yesterday, it turned around for the better today and our Captains tried their luck at the wrecks. Captain John Prather on the “OC Guide Service” spent some time at the wrecks in the morning and returned with 18 keeper flounder the heaviest weighing in at 7 pound 3 ounces (SEE PHOTO). In the afternoon he spent some time in the bay reporting throwback flounder and some croakers. On the “Get Sum” with Captain Nick Clemente the morning trip produced 1 keeper flounder and plenty of throwbacks, the afternoon was FULL of throwbacks. The “Bay Bee with Captian Cale Layton had a similar report reporting ample throwbacks between both trips!!! Monday marks the start of the White Marlin Open on of the largest billfish tournaments in the world. A majority of our fleet is fishing and we hopefully will be reporting high numbers of white marlin releases! Check back to see how our boats are doing throughout the tournament!!!
