Today was the second day of the Mako Mania and quite a few of our boats left this morning in hope of finding a winning shark! Not quite winning but two of our private boats are holding strong in second and third place. The “Talkin Trash” maintained their second place status today with a 183 pound mako and the “No Limits” moved into a close third position with a 173 pound mako. Tomorrow is the final day of the tournament, but offshore forecasts don’t look so great, we predict many boats will be laying. First back today the “Moore Bills” with Captain Rob Skillman returned with a 100 pound mako among 4 other mako releases and 9 blue shark releases. On the “Wrecker” more blue sharks were released along with 3 makos. Another boat the “Vahalla” returned with a blue fin tuna. Despite less than ideal conditions in the bay today all of our bay fishing boats attempted flounder fishing. Captain Cale Layton on the headboat the “Bay Bee” returned with a keeper from the morning and a report full of throwbacks. Aboard the “Get Sum” Captain Nick Clemente returned with 12 keeper flounder in the morning and quite a few on a short afternoon trip. (see photos) Captain Jon Prather on the “OC Guide Service” also had a successful morning and returned with 4 keeper flounder. Unfortunately his afternoon trip was cut short due to inclement weather. Both report high catches on pearl white Gulp! We are working on putting make-up trips together for the remainder of the month. Now is the time to book your fishing charter today with Ocean City’s Premier Charter Fleet. Fishing trips make the perfect graduation or father’s day present.
