It is the same story but a different week. With the start of the Mid-Atlantic 500 a few of our boats left this morning hoping to find the monster white marlin and the chance to win big. As our boats were leaving this morning the “Muff Diver” with Captain Wayne Bradford returned from their overnighter with 23 yellow fin, a shark release and a white marlin release! In the previous days the bite has been in the Baltimore so a majority of our captains returned to the canyon and tested their luck, many released marlin that would not have qualified. The “Moore Bills” released the most whites today with Captain Rob Skillman at the helm returning with 4 white releases and he even included trip to the scales. Captain Butch Davis on the “Fin-Ness” was close behind and returned with a report that consisted of 3 white marlin releases and 2 nice dolphin. We would like to congratulate Captain Butch and his crew for their recent 2nd place win the Poor Girls Open release division and Captain Rob Skillman on his 3rd place victory. The “Last Call” also managed to release three white marlin today as well but Captain Franky Petolina was a little more tight lipped as to his location. Another white marlin was blessed to swim another day after a successful release off of the “Jade II” today with Captain Ed Kauffman who was also trolling at the Baltimore. Never a disappointment Captain Dale Lisi of the “Foolish Pleasures” returned with a cart full of fish and provided a colorful fishing report that included a nice 61 pound wahoo, 4 mahi, and a white marlin release after trolling at the Washington! With Captain Ron Taylor at the helm the “Bill$ 4 Bills” released a white marlin and returned with 2 black fin tuna, 3 mackerel, 23 blue line tile and 3 golden tile fish. While most were marlin fishing today the “Game Changer” decided to chunk at the Washington and returned with full fish boxes and near their limit of yellow fin tuna for the crew on board. They “Playmate” was also rewarded with a very nice yellow fin tuna after trolling at the Washington . Captain Jon Yost on the “Game On” has had some exceptional days these past few filled with big eye tuna ranging in size from 150- 220 plus pounds. He has been running these trips later and has missed the reports and we feel the need to mention his accomplishments now! The bay fishing and inshore wreck and reef fishing for flounders has really picked up. Captain Nick Clemente on the “Get Sum” had a phenomenal morning and returned with some really nice doormats after fishing at the old sea bass grounds. The “Bay Bee” and the “OC Guide Service” have also reported higher numbers of throwbacks, steady numbers of keepers and plenty of croakers with the cleaner water! Right now the fishing is really starting to pick up!!! Don’t miss your opportunity to book your trip with Ocean City’s Premier Charter Fleet today!!!
