A busy first day of summer 2014! June 21, 2014

It was a busy first day of summer here at the fishing center; we had plenty of empty slips at the marina throughout the day today. First to return from the fleet was the “Jade II” with Captain Ed Kauffman who went on an overnighter and found a very nice 152 pound Mako, a 103 pound swordfish, 8 yellow fin tuna for a total of 370 pounds and a nice gaffer dolphin. Another one of our charter boats the “Game On” with Captain John Yost also returned from an overnight with a Mako and a yellow fin tuna. Aboard the “Moore Bills” Captain Rob Skillman returned with a yellow fin tuna and a dolphin. Another Mako was brought back on the “Foolish Pleasures” with Captain Dale Lisi along with 2 nice yellow fins and 9 dolphins. Captain Jeremy Blunt on the “Wrecker” also returned with 2 nice yellow fin tuna today. Another nice dolphin was encountered on the “Last Call” with Captain Franky Pettolina. Our private boats also had a good day today, the “Two Timing Connie” returned with a number of yellow fins for a total stringer of 360 pounds. Captain Mark Robbins on the “Husevo” returned with 3 yellow fins and 7 dolphins. The “Wayne’s World” also had a good day with a nice yellow fin and 2 gaffer dolphin. Inshore shark fishing on the “Fish Finder” with Captain Mark Sampson has also been great recently. Captain Mark reports releasing a variety of shark species including 2 tiger sharks, a hammerhead, some dusky, and sandbar sharks. Flounder fishing is has been phenomenal the past few days and is picking up even more! Captain Cale Layton on the “Bay Bee” had a great day today with 5 keeper flounder in the morning trip and 3 keepers in the afternoon among plenty of throwbacks. The “Get Sum” crushed them early in the morning today with 11 keepers and plenty of throwbacks. His afternoon trip followed in suit with 3 keepers and even more throwbacks. On the “OC Guide Service” Captain John Prather had satisfied customers and managed to snag the new leaderboard position for the rockfish here at the marina with a nice 36”, 14 pound rockfish from his afternoon trip. Right now fishing is fantastic don’t miss your opportunity to fish with Ocean City’s Premier charter fleet and book your trip today!!!
