With the white marlin open over the captains in the fleet have turned their attention to tuna and have been rewarded. Many are chunking and having a great deal of success. Captain Rob Skillman on the “Moore Bills” returned today with 10 yellow fin for a total stringer weight of 500 + pounds. Aboard the “Playmate” with Captain Jeremy Shandrowski at the helm the crew had a similar day with 6 very nice yellow. While most have switched their method of fishing other captain such as Captain Mark Robbins on the “Husevo” continue to troll in the hunt for white marlin. He was rewarded today with one release of a good sized white marlin. As this report went to post the “Wrecker” with Captain Jeremy Blunt had not returned however we are hopeful that the crew transformed their butterfish flats into a full box of yellow fin tuna!!! Bay fishing has really picked up in the past few days with clean water the flounder bite has returned. Captain John Prather of the “OC Guide Service” had a stellar morning with 7 keeper flounder among the throwbacks; with a turn in the tide the afternoon only produced a single keeper but a fish box full of croaker. As we went to post Captain John Prather reported scanning the water for rays to bow hunt. Aboard the “Get Sum” Captain Nick had a productive morning with a keeper flounder and a very high number of throwbacks. On the “Bay Bee” Captain Cale Layton was on point and had 3 keeper flounder with plenty of throwbacks. Captain Cale also fell subject to the slack tide this afternoon and only reported throwbacks for his afternoon trip. Right now the fishing is really beginning to pick up!
