As the summer comes to an end we begin to see a decline in the number of anglers that are around, however this is when the fishing gets good! Today 3 blue marlin were released out of the marina and a total 10 white marlin were released between the fleet and our private boats. The “Foolish Pleasures” with Captain Dale Lisi released a blue marlin today that he estimated around 600 pounds, and returned home with 6 impressive dolphin. The second blue marlin was seen off of the private boat the “Tie One On” there was no estimated weight reported. The third and final blue marlin was released on the private boat the “Karen Lynn” who has stayed with us for the past 2 months and is departing tomorrow, the crew certainly went out with a bang! While trolling at the Poor Man's Canyon Captain Jeremy Blunt returned with a report of 2 white marlin releases. Captain Jason Genthner on “Tighten Up” brought his total white marlin releases up to an impressive 27 today after releasing two white marlin.  Another white marlin was released aboard the “Last Call” the marlin was accompanied by a tuna and Captain Franky Pettolina also reported another guppy and tadpole sighting today. Our private slip hold Mr. Carey aboard the Lite Bite released 2 white marlin today as well while fishing with a crew of ladies for the Poor Girls tournament. A seasonal regular Captain Scott Marsden aboard the “About Time” had a good day today releasing a white marlin while trolling the canyons. More marlin were seen aboard the private boat the “Raine E Daze” with Captain David Raine who released a total of 2 white marlin today, way to go! On the “Bill$ 4 Bills” Captain Mike Conner led  his crew of ladies to two nice tuna and the scales at the Poor Girls Open today. The two yellow fin weighed in at 59 pounds and 49 pounds. The first managed to snag the leaderboard position here at the fishing center and was landed by angler Suzanne Throckmorton, congrats to Suzanne! On an inshore trip today Captain Ed Kauffman on the “Jade II” returned home with a nice crop of bluefish late this afternoon. The private boat the “Salt Lick” also took a different approach to fishing today and returned home with 19 beautiful tile fish. While the ocean has been producing good numbers of marlin, and still some decent sized tuna the bay is turning out great numbers of fish! The bay charter the “Get Sum” with Captain Nick Clemente had a total of 6 keepers between his 3 trips, the keeper flounder did not stand alone, and were accompanied by plenty of throwback croaker as well as about a 1/2 a bushel of crabs. The bay fishing head boat the “Bay Bee” with Captain Mikey Walsh had a total of 5 keeper flounder today along with a keeper triggerfish, and bluefish.
