Marlin was the name of the game again today and thankfully the fish are here. The “Moore Bills” with Captain Rob Skillman returned after an over nighter with a phenomenal report. The crew released a total of 18 white marlin and returned with 3 very large big eye tuna as well as some gaffer dolphin. Captain Butch Davis on the “Fin Ness” did it again for and took high hook for daily marlin releases, with a total of 5 with Captain Frankie Pettolina on the “Last Call” hot on his trial with 4 releases and some dolphin. The “Playmate” with Captain Jeremy Shandrowski decided to try chunking again today and returned with 2 yellow fin, some dolphin and released a white marlin. After an astounding day with dolphin yesterday Captain Mark Robbins did not disappoint today and returned with plenty of dolphin, some golden line tile fish, and some sea bass as well as satisfied customers! Prior to the report going to post the “Foolish Pleasures” had yet to return but Captain Dale Lisi radioed a report of plenty of nice sized gaffer dolphin and a very large wahoo!! On a half day inshore Captain Ed Kauffman on the “Jade II” showed his customers a fun time and loaded his fish box with false albacore and bluefish! Aboard the “Wrecker” Captain Jeremey Blunt also remained inshore today and returned with bluefish. Bay conditions haven’t been the greatest for fishing recently but are returning to a more favorable state and it’s demonstrated by the “Bay Bee” 3 keeper flounder in the morning and a monster of a keeper (23.5 inches) in the afternoon! The keepers were all caught on squid in shiners while drifting in the bays behind Ocean City. Captain Nick Clemente on the “Get Sum” had a similar day and had a keeper in the morning with throwback croaker and flounder throughout his afternoon! Each day conditions offshore improve and we are seeing higher and higher numbers of marlin as well as higher numbers of tuna! We anticipate a great September!!!
