Day Two of the Ocean City Tuna Tournament: July 14, 2012

We apologize for not sending out a formal fishing report last night. We were so busy we crowds and counting fish to post a report, it will be include this evening at the very bottom.  Early this morning 32 boats ventured out from the fishing center in the search of the big one and a total of 54 for the tournament. A majority had success. Aboard the “Moore Bills” Captain Rob Skillman returned to the docks with 5 yellow fin tuna and earned high hook for the day. Captain Dan on the “Game On” who took a make-up charter today returned with happy customers and 4 yellow fin tuna. The “Bill$ 4 Bills” with Captain Mike Conner weighed in a 47 pound yellow fin today and reported releasing a blue marlin estimated at 400 pounds. Another blue marlin was seen by Captain Steve Pfeiffer on the “Game Over” he estimated the blue around 500 pounds, and returned to the docks with an impressive gaffer dolphin. More dolphin were seen off of the “Jade II” with Captain Ed Kauffman who returned to the dock with 5 large dolphin. Captain Dale Lisi on the “Foolish Pleasures” also had a phenomenal day with 3 nice sized yellow fin and a white marlin release. This white marlin release puts Dale in the top position for releases (at the moment) in our fleet. On one of our private boats the “Raine E Daze” Captain David Raine returned to the docks to weigh in 2 sizeable yellow fin. Bay fishing has continued to produce good numbers of keeper flounder. On the bay private charter the “Get Sum” Captain Nick Clemente returned from his morning trip with 7 keeper flounder (18″>) which were accompanied by throwbacks, his afternoon trip yielded a keeper flounder, plenty of throwbacks, crabs, and clams. Captain Mikey Walsh was at the helm of the “Bay Bee” today and led his crew to 2 keeper flounder along with good numbers of throwbacks. Fishing has really picked up in the past few days and the big eye, and yellow fin seem to have stuck around offshore. Don’t miss your opportunity to fish with Ocean City’s Premier Charter Fleet today! Tomorrow is the final day of the 25th Annual Tuna Tournament.
