Today we had over 20 boats leave the marina in their search for fish and a majority had luck. Most of our private boats returned today with reports of yellow fin and dolphin after trolling at the canyons. Captain Ed Kauffman on the “Jade II” returned with a report of a white marlin release and a nice blue fin tuna in the box. Aboard the “Foolish Pleasures” Captain Dale Lisi had a good day with 2 dolphin and an impressive yellow fin (photo) that weighed in at 96 pounds and is the current leaderboard holder. Another change in the leaderboard was made in the golden tile fish category. Captain Ron Callis on the “Reel Addicition” shifted the position with his 43 pound golden tilefish (photo), which was among 6 others, and a gaffer dolphin.  More yellow fin were seen off of the “Playmate” with Captain Jeremey Shandrowski. A blue marlin estimated around 350 pounds was released today from the “Playtime” with Captain Ron Taylor.  The “Blood, Sweat & Tears” with Captain Jeremy Blunt returned from their trip with 2 nice sized dolphin.  One of our private boats the “Wayne’s World” with Captain Darrin Roe landed an impressive wahoo weighing in at 68 pounds (photo) accompanied by 2 nice gaffer dolphin. Another dolphin and yellow fin were landed off of the “Jet Lag” with Captain Jim Jones. Closer to shore the “All In” with Captain Mark Radcliffe returned with a reports of sea bass and blueline tilefish. Our bay fishing head boat the “Bay Bee” with Captain Cale Layton had 3 keepers on his morning trip, 7 on his afternoon among a multitude of throwbacks. Captain Nick Clemente on the “Get Sum” had 3 keeper flounder on his morning trip.  Overall the fishing is still hot!
