The wonderful weather has brought us some good fishing recently! Yesterday we neglected to get a fishing report posted and we apologize. Yesterday the “Fish Finder” with Captain Mark Sampson released a variety of species of shark including a tiger, 4 duskys, 2 Atlantic sharpnose, and 2 blacktips as well as a cobia and some flounder. The crew returned with 12 seabass and 3 keeper flounder. Captain Ron Calis returned from an overnighter on the “Reel Addiction” with 33 tilefish the largest was a blue line tilefish weighing in at 17 pounds. While fishing in the bay Captain Nick Clemente had 3 keeper flounder, and a keeper bluefish accompanied by throwbacks of each species during his two trips. The bay fishing headboat the “Bay Bee” with Captain Mikey Walsh also had a keeper flounder and throwbacks yesterday!
Today we only had a few boats leave the marina. The “Reel Attitude” with Captain Mark Deimler returned from an inshore trip with a hefty bluefish in the box. The bluefish weighed in at 12.1 pounds and was caught by Ed Wurmb it managed to snag the leaderboard position at the Fishing Center. Congrats to Ed! Bay fishing seems to be picking up again. Larger fish are being reported on an outgoing tide. Captain Nick Clemente on the “Get Sum” reported good crabbing and clamming as well as decent flounder action today. Similarly on the “Bay Bee” Captain Mikey Walsh reported good numbers of throwbacks and 2 keepers between his two trips today.
