Over the past few days the number of white marlin has increased off the coast and it is evident in the number of releases and outriggers full of flags! Captain Butch Davis on the “Fin Ness” had a fantastic day today with 6 white marlin releases and a blue marlin release as well. A close second was the “Jade II” with Captain Ed Kauffman who led 5 very lucky individuals to their first white marlin today! Congrats to the boys on the “Jade II.” While it wasn’t the last call on boats to return the “Last Call” returned with a report consisting of 4 white marlin releases and some dolphin! Aboard the “All In” with Captain Joe another white marlin was released today and the crew returned with a few dolphins. More dolphin than you could count were brought back by the “Husevo” with Captain Mark Robbins today who had enough dolphin to amount to over 300 pounds! Without fail Captain Ron Calis never disappoints and returned with tilefish, including 3 golden tile fish that weighed up to 45 pounds each as well as2 black bellied roses. While he took the hint and released a white marlin yesterday Captain Jeremy Blunt on the “Wrecker” returned with 6 very nice yellowfin tuna. Captain Dale Lisi on the “Foolish Pleasures” also had a good day of tuna fishing yesterday and returned with a 166 pound bigeye, a 65 pound yellow fin and also released 2 white marlin! We would like to mention one of our favorite boats the “About Time” with Captain Scott Marsden released 3 white marlin today! Bay fishing has been good recently too. With Captain Cale Layton at the helm the “Bay Bee” sailed its three trips today and returned with a report of happy customers and plenty of throwback croaker and flounder. With beautiful weather and a decent offshore forecast we are anticipating a busy weekend full of chatter of marlin releases and great days of fishing ahead!!
